Being a bartender made me a better Christian

The first time I encountered alcohol in my life was in third grade.

My friend invited me over to her house to play after school one day, and when I walked in, I saw her dad in a recliner holding a bottle of beer and watching tv. I froze and felt a rising inward panic.

Why, you may ask?

Because as a kid, I understood alcohol as a bad thing. And in my kid logic, that meant bad people drank alcohol and alcohol made people do bad things.

To Moms Who Feel Like Failures

This winter was the hardest winter our family has experienced in the past six years.

Having lost our income for several months to becoming unexpectedly pregnant to letting go of a lifelong dream as well as having my best friend be nearly killed by a drunk driver, I had hit a new low as a wife, mom, and friend.

Letting go…isn’t easy. It’s hard, it hurts, and sometimes it just plain ol’ sucks.

Two and a half years ago, when I was pregnant with Eden, slowly but surely a passion began to grow in me… a passion that made me see the world differently. So it?s begun. We?ve decided we?re ready for baby #3, and we couldn?t be more excited! And part of what makes us so excited is that we are going to adopt this time around!
